Here’s how Clinic Chat is being used with partnering organizations to improve patient outcomes by helping them manage their chronic and infectious conditions.

Substance Use Disorder
Our Substance Use Disorder (SUD) bot invites users to engage with multiple push messages delivered over 1 week designed to encourage users to ask questions about SUD, SUD prevention and treatment. Those who wish can self-screen for SUD, anxiety and/or depression within the system via secure and confidential Q&A. Those who screen are given immediate feedback and referrals for care as appropriate.
Heart Health Support
Our chronic conditions chatbots handle a variety of topics including healthy eating, active living, healthy sleep and Diabetes, Hypertension, and Cholesterol self-management. These bots are integrated with multiple healthcare delivery systems and engage with users for up to 12-weeks.

Medication Adherence
Our medication adherence bot invites users to engage with multiple push messages delivered over 1 week designed to support users to refill their chronic illness medication. We offer prompts, links with additional information on how to access medication, and how to obtain economic support or social support to do so. Research has shown it is effective in the short term to reduce the amount of time patients are without their medications.
Cancer Screening, Genetic Counseling/Testing/Support Chatbot
The Cancer Screening, Genetic Counseling, Testing and Support Chatbot is developed in partnership with the Colorado Cancer Coalition and is currently deployed in partnership with the Latino Research and Policy Center. It provides information in English and Spanish to increase awareness of cancer testing and counseling, guidelines for cancer screening, and support for people with and people caring for those with a cancer diagnosis.
Diabetes, Hypertension, & Cholesterol Screening with Lifestyle Support
The Diabetes, Hypertension and Cholesterol Screening Chatbot is deployed in partnership Tepeyac Community Health Center and supported by a grant from the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment. This pilot project is designed to increase access to screening for common chronic conditions for English- and Spanish-speaking patients.
COVID-19 Vaccine Chatbot
The COVID-19 Vaccine Chatbot was used in Colorado and New Mexico and adapted for use by the Public Health Information Service in Canada and primary care offices in Peru. Over 5000 messages were sent in English and Spanish about vaccine safety, cost, side effects and availability to more than 3000 individuals to help improve their access to COVID prevention.
